Generations of Love | Family Photography in Waxahachie, TX


There’s something incredibly powerful about photographing multiple generations of women together. Recently, I had the honor of capturing a truly special family session—three sisters, their beautiful mama, and their grandmother, all gathered in one frame. Three generations of love, strength, and connection.


Cortney reached out to schedule a session that brought the women of her family together. She wanted to preserve the sweet bond they all share and document the love that’s been passed down through the years. And let me tell you—this session was nothing short of beautiful.

The girls arrived in matching white t-shirts and jeans, effortlessly coordinated and glowing with sister energy. Britnie, one of the sisters and a talented nail tech, couldn’t resist adding her own artistic flair—a bold pop of red shoes that brought the whole look to life.


From the moment we started shooting at our Waxahachie location, there was laughter. The kind that bubbles up effortlessly, the kind that tells you these women genuinely love being together. We started off with some light posing and candid giggles on the bridge, and it didn’t take long before everyone settled into the flow.


What I loved most was how natural the session felt. This wasn’t just about snapping pretty pictures—it was about capturing connection. The sisters leaned into each other with ease, mom smiled as she watched her girls laugh, and Grandma beamed as the family she helped raise surrounded her with joy.


We played with natural light, soft poses, and just enough direction to keep things fluid. I use a lot of playful, movement-based prompts in my sessions, especially for families, because they bring out genuine moments—soft laughter, warm glances, and real memories. That approach worked beautifully for this group.


By the end of the session, I found myself reflecting on how important it is to pause and capture these moments. It’s easy to wait, to say “maybe next year,” or “when we have more time.” But these are the photos that will be held onto for decades—the ones passed down, framed, and shared with future generations.
