A Sunshine-Filled Mommy and Me Session in Waxahachie, TX


Some sessions just have a little extra sparkle—and this one was no exception. When this sweet little girl arrived for her Mommy and Me session, she was beaming from the start. With the brightest eyes and the kind of smile that could light up the whole park, she and her mom showed up ready to make memories. You could feel the bond between them from the very first shot.


We started at the bridge, where I always love to begin with a few candid moments. There's something about that space that feels peaceful and playful all at once—perfect for capturing connection without posing too much. This little one was an absolute natural in front of the camera. Whether she was flashing a grin or holding her mama’s hand, she radiated joy in every frame.


From there, we wandered to the flower-filled area nearby. These two stopped to admire the blooms, sharing a quiet moment in between giggles. I caught a few sweet poses here—mom crouched down close, their noses almost touching, surrounded by soft pops of color and golden light. It’s those little in-between moments that truly tell the story.


But then... she spotted the train.


Her face lit up with pure excitement, and we made our way over. She climbed aboard like she’d done it a hundred times before, pretending to steer, giggling as she “conducted” her own little adventure. The joy was infectious, and I just let her play while I snapped away. Sometimes the best photos come when we stop directing and just let kids be kids.


We finished the session in an open grassy field nearby, spinning in circles, twirling in the sunlight, and capturing those last few photos that feel as free as childhood should be.
